These shelves display items purchased from the Northern Illinois Food Bank for a total cost of just $25.00!  Included in the total are 5 lbs. of frozen meat, many name-brand grocery items, paper products, health/personal care items and cleaning supplies.

Why not try a "Fishing for Funds" Drive?

NIFB delivers our orders every Thursday!
A "Fishing for Funds" Drive is a great alternative to a Food Drive as a way to raise money for FISH Food Pantry!  As you can see on the shelves above, we are able to buy much more food directly from the Northern Illinois Food Bank located in Geneva, IL.

Our partnership with NIFB allows us to purchase food at the extremely low price of approximately $0.14 /lb.  A $10 donation enables us to purchase $80 worth of food and personal and household products.  In addition, we participate in the (EFP) Emergency Food Program which offers free commodities of canned and dry goods along with fresh and frozen foods.  It is a great opportunity to give a little more to our clients during these difficult economic times.

Gifts that Keep on Giving

When a monetary gift is given to FISH of McHenry in honor of a friend or relative's Birthday, Anniversary or Special Occasion, it is a gift that keeps on giving!
FISH will send you a Thank You for your donation and if you send the name and address of the recipient, we will send an acknowledgement and our Best Wishes.  You may also request one of the cards shown below.  If you choose to request one of the cards, a minimum donation of $25 is required.  Please be sure to provide all names and addresses when making a donation.

Memorials

Many local friends & neighbors name FISH of McHenry as their charity of choice in memory of a loved one.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations are made to FISH of McHenry to help struggling families in our community with basic needs.  Acknowledgement of the gifts are sent to the donor and condolences will also be sent to the family if an address is provided.  A memorial card like the example shown below can also be sent to the family for a minimum donation of $25.  Be sure to provide all names and addresses.

Sponsoring a Penny Drive can be as simple as placing a fish bowl out for all to contribute spare change.  It is amazing to see how much the small change adds up once the bowl is filled!  Several classrooms, businesses and organizations have had great success with this food drive alternative.

Our Diaper Bank Partnership

FISH of McHenry is working in partnership with the organization, Keeping Families Covered.  As partners, we help distribute the diapers the bank collects from donors in the community.  The diaper bank helps meet the needs of the disadvantaged by supplying them with diapers for their children.
Adult sizes, bed pads & wipes are also available.
