A Mobile Food Pantry is Coming Soon!
All in Need are Welcome!

***** Due to the Current COVID-19 Situation, Please check for Updates *****
as Events may be Cancelled for Safety Concerns!

The Mobile Pantry is a "traveling food pantry" that delivers meat, produce, non-perishable food and other products to communities where the need for food surpasses the capacity of existing food pantry resources.  Volunteers assist in distributing the food to the needy.

Our Coronavirus COVID-19 Strategy
FISH of McHenry is open for service!

Pre-packed carts include canned goods, dry goods, cereal, rice, pasta, soups, frozen meat, eggs, milk, snacks, beverages, bakery goods, paper goods, cleaning supplies and personal care items.

FISH of McHenry Food Pantry has been open and will remain open during this COVID-19 pandemic but with new policies implemented for the safety of our volunteers and guests.  Since March 17, 2020, we have been serving only outdoors in a drive up format with generous carts of pre-packed food, personal care and household items.  We offer food assistance to both families and individual adults who are residents living within the zip codes of 60050, 60051 and 60072.  In addition, we have invited our neighbors in Wonder Lake, zip code 60097, to be served, temporarily, during this pandemic crisis.

FISH of McHenry Food Pantry is committed to providing a safe environment for our volunteers, guests and any people who visit our facility.  We are monitoring the coronavirus situation on a daily basis, and responding accordingly.

The low-income families, seniors, veterans and disabled individuals that we serve may
be especially impacted by the economic and/or medical consequences of the coronavirus and the public reactions to this situation.  We stand by our mission to provide healthy food and household goods to our neighbors in need and are working very hard to fully continue our services through this challenging time.  This also means that we need to take precautions and have changed some of our policies of how we will distribute food in this uncertain situation.

Here are the policies and actions we have implemented to maintain an environment that will allow us to continue to serve our guests:

   A.  All guests that come to our facility will be served with food and household
        items
but we have changed our procedures temporarily for the safety of all.
Guests will be served similar quantities to what they were used to getting for
the month.  Guests will not be required to sign anything.

   B.  At the present time, we are serving guests during our regular pantry hours.
Guests should remain in their cars and follow instructions from volunteers
directing traffic in parking lot.  W
e are distributing carts of food that have
been pre-packed in boxes or bags until further notice for guests to load in
        their cars.
All guests will be receiving a similar amount of food that they are
used to getting but without their own choices.  If you do not want the food that
is given you, please do not return it to the pantry.  Share with family members,
friends or anyone you might know that may be in need at this time.

   C. If volunteers are feeling ill, have recently been ill, or have compromised
immune systems, we are asking them to leave our facility and return home.
   D. We are taking precautions by providing masks, gloves, disinfectant wipes, and

hand sanitizer to our volunteers and encouraging everyone to wash their
        hands often.

We will continue to update this page with any changes.
Thank you for your patience during this uncertain and difficult time.
